TASTE LANDS IN THE PORT MUSEUM OF TRICASE,

In the typical cuisine of a port, tradition rhymes with contamination!

The Salento gastronomic tradition is the result of a wonderful mixture of sea and land and the contamination produced by the passage of other peoples or by their proximity, by the landing of people, products and merchandise from all over the world.

The appointment Sbarchi di Gusto nel Porto di Venere, which was held on Sunday 10 November 2019, at the terrace of Mamma Li Turchi, in the Port Museum of Tricase wanted to celebrate the meeting of people, cultures, knowledge and flavors typical of a coastal area, on the occasion of the Advanced Course on Sustainable Development of Coastal Communities.

This perfect coincidence has transformed the Port Museum of Tricase into a true “sea port” where the traditional dishes of Albania, Algeria, Bosnia- Herzegovina, Egypt, Kenya, Lebanon, Mauritania, Mozambique, Somalia and Tunisia have met, during of a pleasant evening, the most typical Salento cuisine.

The initiative was organized as part of the activities of the territorial cooperation project between Greece and Italy, entitled MUSE, co-financed by the European Union in partnership with the Municipality of Tricase and CIHEAM Bari.

The appointment was organized by Magna Grecia Mare Association, the MARE Outpost and the Yard of Taste of the Port Museum of Tricase.
