“Di barche e di battelli o de schifi e schifareddhi” a journey through history and craftsmanship

On the occasion of the inauguration of the Regional Hub dedicated to traditional maritime culture, maritime crafts and sea products, AETHER project presents the exhibition “Di barche e di battelli o de schifi e schifareddhi. Traditional boats on display” which will officially open on Tuesday, November 21, at 11.30 am.

Passionately curated by Magna Grecia Mare Association and the Museum of Sea Art and Traditional Boats of the Port Museum of Tricase, the exhibition offers a compelling journey into the traditions of coastal communities, revealing their craftsmanship and intriguing connection to maritime history.

The exhibition presents a selection of historic gozzi, varche and schifareddhi, which, after being rescued from destruction, have undergone a careful restoration process. The result is a unique collection of boats that carry with them centuries of maritime history and traditions.
