The Advanced Specialized Course on Sustainable Development of Coastal Communities has concluded.

They lived and animated the Tricase Maritime Museum Port for 10 weeks.

The SDCC course, now in its fourth edition, is organized by CIHEAM Bari with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM).

Attending the ceremony were Director Maurizio Raeli, Deputy Director Biagio Di Terlizzi, Bishop of the Ugento-Santa Maria di Leuca diocese, Mons. Vito Angiuli, Antonio De Donno, Mayor of Tricase, Emmanuel Nzai, CEO of the Secretariat for Economic Development of Jumuiya, and Andrew Mwadime, Governor of Taita Taveta County and President of Natural Resources and Environment, both from Kenya.

Concluding the ceremony was a speech by Issa Timammy, Governor of Lamu County and President of the Blue Economy for the Council of Governors.

The educational program, consisting of lectures, project work, and technical visits, provided participants from diverse contexts with the opportunity to engage in discussions on integrated coastal area management. Together, they sought shared solutions for social and economic growth of their communities, with a strong focus on the human and environmental components.
